The Biblical account of Esther is a vivd display of the hand of God at work in the affairs of man. Esther certainly never thought that she was a person of any significance, and yet, she was instrumental in saving the people of God from destruction. She did not seek notoriety, but found herself in a position where the very existence of the Jewish people depended on her willingness to stand where her own life was in danger.

Esther is a character whose inner beauty and strength of character is evident in how she responds to difficulty and attack. She seeks God's mercy and requests of Him to intervene and the right the wrong that has been committed against God's chosen people.
